Hackathon organised by the European Commission to combat COVID-19

UPDATE 30/04:

The winners of the EUvsVirus Hackathon have been announced. There are altogether 117 winners out of 2160 proposed solutions, and they will be splitting between them €100,000, provided by the partners.
The Jury awarded the best teams and solutions per domain – Health and Life; Business Continuity; Social and Political Cohesion; Remote Working and Education; Digital Finance; and Other – but also a winner and two runner-ups for each of the 37 challenges. Winners and runner-ups are new invited to a Matchathon on 22-25 May on the new EIC COVID Platform. The goal of this new event is to bring together end-users with investors and provide funding opportunities for teams that are present.

In an effort to fight the COVID-19 outbreak, the European Commission is bringing together civil society, innovators, partners and buyers from all over Europe for a three day event. The initiative is coordinated by the DG for Research and Innovation, European Innovation Council Task Force and is supported by the European Parliament, the European Committee of the Regions and EUROCITIES as the official partner. is an online European-wide hackathon that builds on the work conducted by previous hackathons. Their goal will be to develop innovative solutions to overcome coronavirus-related challenges by connecting the civil society, innovators, partners and investors across Europe.

Successful projects will have a significant social impact on the response to COVID-19. Selected projects will also be shared across tech ecosystem and partner networks.
