We have been invited to participate to an online conference organised by the ‘Close the Glass Loop’ project. I’ve introduced you to this project during our last meeting in Oslo. ‘Close the Glass Loop’ is a platform to unite the glass collection and recycling value chain, and to establish a material stewardship programme that will result in more bottle-to-bottle recycling. They aim to increase the quantity and quality of available recycled glass – so that people don’t just recycle, but recycle more and better.

The objectives of the project are:

  • Achieve a 90% average EU collection rate of used glass packaging by 2030 (up from the current average of 76%)
  • Achieve better quality of recycled glass, so more recycled content can be used in a new production loop

Please find the agenda below:

  • 09:30: Close The Glass Loop – Introduction, Adeline Farrelly, Secretary General, FEVE
  • 09:45: Opportunities for municipalities in glass packaging collection: presentation of a new study with Q&A, Jean-Benoît Bel, Senior Project Manager, ACR+
  • 10:45: The European Close the Glass Loop Action Plan, Jean-Paul Judson, Managing Director, NOWMORE
