EUROCITIES position on EU 2050 climate ambition

In a letter addressed to the President of the European Council, the EU Heads of State, EC Vice-President Maroš Šefčovič and Commissioner Miguel Arias Cañete, EUROCITIES President Anna König Jerlmyr pointed out EUROCITIES position on the EU 2050 climate ambition. She calls on EU leaders to commit to the target of net zero emissions by 2050 as it is the only pathway that will deliver on citizens’ expectations and minimise negative future impacts.

Europe on the Move: Safe, connected and clean mobility

On 17 May, the European Commission released its third and final set of legislative proposals for mobility. Transport is now the largest source of emissions in the EU, and accounts for 25,000 road fatalities per year and contributes to 400,000 premature deaths from air pollution.
