Working group urban ageing looks at dementia-friendly environments in Vienna

The working group on urban ageing met on 22-23 March in Vienna. The group gathered 11 cities - Oslo, Vienna, Manchester, Hengelo, Barcelona, Tilburg, Amsterdam, Ghent, Nantes, Frankfurt, Düsseldorf - to discuss how to make cities more age-friendly as healthy environments.

Highlights from the Social Affairs Forum in Utrecht, 7-8 March 2018

On 7-8 March, the social affairs forum met in Utrecht. A record number of 175 participants from over 50 cities, including 15 elected city politicians and representatives of the European Commission, OECD and UN-HABITAT, took part in the meeting. They agreed cities play a key role in translating the Sustainable Development Goals into relevant actions at local level and involving citizens in the process.

2nd Chance final event

2nd Chance is an URBACT network of 11 city partners from all over Europe. In the last 3 years they have tested and applied a new collaborative approach of reactivating larger abandoned buildings, such as former convents, hospitals, prisons, factories, as strategic places for a sustainable renewal of cities and neighbourhoods.
