André Sobczak, chair of our WG public services and public procurement, vice-president of Nantes Metropole, spoke today at the European Commission and OECD conference on strategic public procurement (SPP) in Paris. He debated on political ownership of SPP with Julien Bargeton, Deputy Mayor of Paris, Lars Jakob Hiim, Norway State Secretary for the Minister of Trade and Industry and Jesús Vazquez Almuiña, Minister of Health for the Galicia Region (Spain).

State aid legislation amended to stimulate investments in ports, airports and culture

On 17 May, the European Commission approved the amendment to the General Block Exemption Regulation on EU State aid rules (GBER) . This amendment aims to facilitate investments notably in port, airports, and culture and heritage conservation sectors. It is in line with the objective of reducing administrative burdens over member states.
