EUROCITIES report maps the situation of Roma in cities in Europe

EUROCITIES has conducted a mapping study in 23 large cities in Europe, which have big Roma populations. The findings from the mapping study are presented in a comprehensive report that reveals the situation of Roma inclusion at local level.

EU Digital Cities Challenge launched

On 10 October 2017, during the European Week of Regions and Cities, the European Commission (DG GROW and DG REGIO) and the Committee of the Regions launched the Digital Cities Challenge. The Challenge invites cities in Europe to improve the life of their citizens through the development and implementation of digital policies.

EUROCITIES Working Group Employment meeting 23-24 October 2017, Gothenburg

The next meeting of the WG Employment will take place on 23 -24 October in Gothenburg, just before the EUROCITIES Social Affairs Forum. The meeting will start at 2 pm on the 23 and end at 3.30 pm on the 24. The meeting will focus on the European Pillar of Social rights and the principle of Active support to employment on the drafting of the 2018 workplan as well as it will give the possibility to know more about what the City of Gothenburg does in the employment field.

Social innovation in Rotterdam: One-stop-shop for youth at risk of exclusion

Jongerenloket (Youth Desk) is a hub of free services in Rotterdam where vulnerable people under the age of 27 can seek assistance for education, work or care. The one-stop-shop enables young people to access all of the city’s youth-related social services at one central location, hence making it easier for young people to receive the help they need.
