EUROCITIES welcomes the European Pillar of Social Rights and demands for cities to be involved

Today, the European Commission adopted its proposal on the European Pillar of Social Rights. The Pillar aims to update the European social model in light of changing economic and labour markets. It sets out 20 key principles and rights to support fair and well-functioning labour markets and welfare systems. They concern equal opportunities and access to the labour market, fair working conditions, and social protection and inclusion.

Practical recommendations for cultural governance and partnerships in cities

From 29 March to 1 April 2017, the EUROCITIES culture forum in Tallinn brought together EUROCITIES representatives from cities across Europe to discuss urban cultural policy, the cultural challenges cities face and innovative ways that cities from across the continent find to overcome them. A result of the many discussions and presentations in Tallinn are these practical recommendations which bring together the knowledge and experience of our member cities.
