EUROCITIES, along with ICLEI (Local Governments for Sustainability), is to run a pilot project for the European Green Capital Network. As well as supporting the EU Commission in coordinating the work of the network of winners and finalists, we will also be involved in developing tools to share these cities' expertise with a wider audience.

Members of the EGCN, all previous winners and finalists of the European Green Capital Award, exchange best practices, challenges and solutions and also encourage and guide other European cities on their paths towards a more sustainable future. The EGCN is currently composed of 26 cities, 20 of which are also EUROCITIES members.

The pilot project we are delivering will organise a series of strategically targeted workshops, closely linked with the production of toolkits providing recommendations and sharing knowledge and expertise.  The project will last for two years, ending in May 2020.
