The annual edition of EUROPEANMOBILITYWEEK took place from 16-22 September all around Europe. This editions put particular attention on clean, shared and intelligent mobility. Over 2,470 cities in Europe applied and more than 600 city-events were organised throughout the week.

This represents a new record for the EUROPEANMOBILITYWEEK, exceeding by 500 cities the last record reached in 2016. Following on from that success, the EMW and SUMP Awards applications are now open!

For the first time, the EUROPEANMOBILITYWEEK Award will be presented in two categories: one for municipalities with a population of over 50,000 and one for municipalities with a population under 50,000.

Towns and cities wishing to apply for one of the two categories of the award are invited to:
  • Include a map of the area that was closed for motorised traffic during Car-Free Day
  • Submit a selection of supporting materials by normal post or (preferably) in digital format via WeTransfer or similar online sharing services
All documents must be sent before 23 October 2017 to juan.caballero@eurocities.eu

Moreover, the Sustainable Urban Mobility Planning (SUMP) Award identifies local authorities that have developed a Mobility Plan that satisfies the diverse transport needs of people and businesses, whilst improving quality of life. Each year, the award highlights a different aspect of mobility planning. To apply, fill in the application form in English and send it to sumpaward@mobilityweek.eu.
You may attach supporting documents, studies, links or pictures to the email while not exceeding 3 pages per document and a total size of 5 MB.
Please find attached the application form and the evaluation criteria.
