With the goal of supporting local governments in their work on participatory democracy, EUROCITIES, our WG creative citizenship, and the city of Paris are pleased to invite you to attend our conference on citizens engagement at local level

In the past year, EUROCITIES has been working intensively on citizens engagement, in particular through our ‘Cities4Europe - Europe for citizens’ campaign, the work conducted by our working group creative citizenship and by the task force digital citizenship, as well as through the ROCK and Sharing Cities projects.

Recently, 75 cities have adopted the EUROCITIES Declaration on citizens engagement. It is now time for EUROCITIES and its members to define principle and actions to put this Declaration into practice.

Let's do it together! Citizens engagement at local level – Paris, 22 and 23 October 2019

This event is aimed at representatives from cities that are working, or are planning to work, on citizens engagement. Renowned experts in the field will share their knowledge, while city representatives will have the opportunity to talk and learn about initiatives and tools aimed at fostering citizens participation in local decision making, with the ultimate goal of strengthening participatory governance in our cities.

  • Where: Hotel de Ville, Paris
  • Why attend: after having adopted the EUROCITIES Declaration on Citizens Engagement, you will now have the opportunity to co-create the EUROCITIES principles on citizens engagement at local level. You can expect to leave the conference with new ideas, be part of a new community of cities working on citizens engagement and with new connections to other stakeholders
  • Target audience: city representatives involved in citizen engagement policies and programmes
  • How: debates with external experts; thematic tables led by city representatives and external experts; professional fair, etc.

The draft agenda will be sent out mid-July, together with the link for registration.
