In the framework of the 2019 Circular Economy Stakeholder Conference on 6-7 March 2019, EUROCITIES will organise a workshop on Circular Cities for Climate Mitigation bringing together key stakeholders operating at different levels of governance as well as stakeholders of key value chains in the urban metabolism.
The workshop is hosted by the European Economic and Social Committee and will take place on 7 March 2019 from 9:30 to 10:50.
In order to examine the interdependence between circular economy and climate mitigation, the workshop comprises a panel session on success stories and new challenges as well as four deep dive sessions focusing more on the practical implementation of circularity in cities.
We are pleased to also welcome three EUROCITIES members to the workshop who will report on their experiences related to innovative approaches taken at city level. Eveline Jonkhoff, head of EUROCITIES circular economy taskforce, will represent the city of Amsterdam in the panel discussion while Mette Skovgaard from the city of Copenhagen and Håkon Jentoft from the city of Oslo will each lead one group discussion in the deep dive sessions.
Later in the afternoon, the Circular Economy Task Force and the WG Entrepreneurship and SMEs will come together for a meeting to discuss business models of entrepreneurship and SMEs in the context of circular economy.
