Mayor of Ghent talks TTIP with Commissioner Malmström

Daniël Termont, mayor of Ghent and EUROCITIES vice president, met the European commissioner for trade to clarify aspects of the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP).The meeting was an opportunity for us to clarify some concerns our member cities have regarding the trade agreement between the EU and the US, and make the case for cities to be involved directly in the negotiation process.

The evolving labour market and the digital transition bring the need to invest in new skills, develop skills, identify gaps and forecast needs. That is why EUROCITIES and the city of Rotterdam organised an event, ‘Skilling up for jobs in cities: making the most of the Urban Agenda for the EU’, in Rotterdam on 21 September.

Launch of Global Parliament of Mayors
